Kurz Lean Startup dokončen
Po prvním ročníku kurzu Lean Startup znovu nabídl Ústav ekonomiky a managementu VŠCHT Praha tento kurz studentům chemického zaměření (doktorandům a studentům posledního roku magisterského studia). Nově byl kurz nabídnut také studentům ekonomických oborů, aby takto mohly vzniknout týmy s širokými znalostmi. Kurz studentům poskytl náhledy na kariéry ve startupech, do dalších rolí využívajících podnikatelské dovednosti a myšlení (např. inovační role ve firmách) a přemýšlení o vlastním životě jako o startupu.
Studenti v kurzu rozvíjeli své záměry na základě předchozího výzkumu a pracovali na výzvách, které jim poskytl partner kurzu, společnost Deloitte. Následně hovořili s uživateli, aby identifikovali jejich problémy, vyvinuli řešení, testovali s uživateli a vytvořili business model. Kurz byl zakončen týmovými prezentacemi před odbornou porotou.
V porotě zasedli Senta Čermáková (ředitelka pro inovace ve společnosti Deloitte Česká republika), Aleš Hamhalter (vedoucí oddělení inovací ve společnosti Deloitte Česká republika) a Matěj Matolín (partner společnosti Impulse Ventures, investora rizikového kapitálu zaměřeného na technologické startupy v regionu střední Evropy).
Porota poskytla návrhy, jak studentské podniky posunout dál, tedy jaké by mohly být další kroky a jaké by mohly být slabiny záměrů.
Dva týmy se dostaly až na konec kurzu. Jeden tým řešil problém plýtvání potravinami. Druhý tým se zaměřil na pomoc podnikům při šetření vodou.
Během kurzu si studenti vyslechli řadu řečníků z oboru.
Chintan Oza hovořil o budoucích trendech a budování individuální strategie odolné vůči budoucnosti. Chintan Oza je Venture Advisor ve společnosti Loyal VC (Bombaj), ředitel The Founder Institute, prezident OneQuantum India Region a viceprezident PMI Mumbai Chapter.
Haricharan Vijayaraghavan ukázal, jak lze vytvořit řešení pomocí Low Code/No Code, a na další hodině jak vytvářet produkty, které si lidé zamilují. Haricharan Vijayaraghavan je senior IT a business manažer, zkušený školitel, akreditovaný Kanban trenér a ICAgile Agile Certified Coach.
Michael de la Maza ukázal, jak se startupy (i větší společnosti) mohou iterativně dostat k souladu produktu s trhem (product-market fit). Michael de la Maza je autor, obchodní lídr, andělský investor, agilní trenér a Scrum Alliance Certified Enterprise Coach (CEC). Je držitelem doktorátu v oboru umělé inteligence z MIT.
Delana Mikolášová hovořila o startupových lekcích z Izraele. Pojmenovala více faktorů tohoto úspěchu a konkrétní návrhy pro české podnikatele.
Delana Mikolášová je diplomatka pro vědu, výzkum a inovace, působí na Velvyslanectví České republiky v Izraeli.
Jan Vašek rozebral několik podnikatelských modelů a nechal studenty procvičit použití plátna podnikatelského modelu (business model canvas) a plátna udržitelného podnikatelského modelu (sustainable business model canvas).
Jan Vašek je odborným asistentem na VŠCHT Praha, předtím dlouho působil v oblasti nákupu v automobilovém průmyslu a v nákupu spotřebního zboží.
Gil Goldman nechal účastníky procvičit rychlé představení a několik modelů prezentace vhodných zejména pro závěrečné prezentace před porotou.
Gil Goldman je zkušený vývojový inženýr s praxí v elektrotechnickém a elektronickém výrobním průmyslu, který pracoval pro společnosti jako Siemens, Bohemia Interactive Simulations nebo Socialbakers.
Matěj Matolín hovořil z pohledu investora. Nastínil možnosti financování startupů, specifika vztahu s rizikovým investorem a klíčové aspekty prezentací investorům.
Matěj Matolín je Talent partnerem ve společnosti Impulse Ventures a jeho posláním je pomáhat technologickým startupům v růstu. Zaměřuje se na vyhledávání technologických talentů a manažerů na úrovni C, nastavení mezinárodních operací, budování efektivní funkce People Ops a vytváření atraktivní značky zaměstnavatele.
Jiří Sauer a Pavla Vyskočová se podělili o postřehy ze startupového a technologického ekosystému střední a východní Evropy. Hovořili také o programu Technology Fast 50 Central Europe organizovaném společností Deloitte.
Jiří Sauer je partnerem ve společnosti Deloitte Česká republika v oddělení Audit & Assurance. Je lokálním lídrem soutěže Deloitte Technology Fast 50, která každoročně oceňuje nejrychleji rostoucí technologické firmy a zastřešuje komunitu těchto firem v rámci iniciativy Deloitte Private.
Pavla Vyskočová je manažerkou v oddělení Forenzních služeb společnosti Deloitte Česká republika.
Studenty podporovali koučové týmu Gil Goldman, Mike Leber, Pavel Teichman a Haricharan Vijayaraghavan.
Gil Goldman je zkušený vývojový inženýr. Mike Leber je agilní a obchodní kouč, programový a projektový manager. Pavel Teichman je zkušený projektový manager, agilní kouč, školitel a konzultant. Haricharan Vijayaraghavan je zkušený manager v oblasti IT a obchodu a lektor.
Ústav ekonomiky a managementu VŠCHT Praha už nyní připravuje další verze tohoto kurzu a další aktivity na podporu podnikatelských, inovačních a manažerských dovedností studentů a zaměstnanců VŠCHT Praha.

„U závěrečné prezentace záleží na každém detailu a na tom, aby každý dokonale znal svou oblast. Během svého výzkumu jsem nebyl připraven na to, na co se může tým investorů zeptat. Investoři dokázali poměrně snadno odhalit naše díry v projektu. Přesto to byla skvělá zkušenost, navzdory všem problémům, které se staly, a tomu, kolik hodin nervů to stálo. Takže to hodnotím pozitivně a šel bych do toho znovu.“
A další studentka: „Když se ohlédnu za tímto kurzem, uvědomila jsem si, že jsem se naučila spoustu zajímavých věcí. Zlepšila jsem si své schopnosti spolupráce a komunikační dovednosti. Naučila jsem se, jak navrhnout start-up nebo jak vytvořit business model canvas. Díky (doplňujícím) online kurzům jsem získala znalosti o podnikání obecně. The second Lean Startup course for students of UCT Prague is over!
After the first edition of the Lean Startup course the School of Business at UCT Prague offered the course again!
The course was offered to chemistry majors (PhD. level and last year master students). Newly it was offered also to business majors so that students could form well-rounded teams. The course gave students insights into startup careers and other roles utilizing entrepreneurial skills and mindset (such as intrapreneurial roles and thinking of your own life as a startup).
In the course students developed the ideas they brought to class, worked on challenges provided by the course partner, Deloitte. Next they talked to users to identify user problems, developed solutions, tested with users and built a business model. The course concluded with team pitches to a jury of experts.
The jury consisted of Senta Čermáková (Director of Innovation at Deloitte Czech Republic), Aleš Hamhalter (Innovation Supervisor at Deloitte Czech Republic) and Matěj Matolín (Partner at Impulse Ventures, a venture capital investor focused on tech startups in the CE region).
The jury provided suggestions how to move the student ventures forward, what could be the next steps and what could be the key breaking points.
Two teams made it to the end of the course. One team was solving the problem of food waste. The other team was focusing on helping companies save water.
During the course students heard from a lineup of speakers from the industry.
Chintan Oza talked about future trends and building individual future-proof strategy. Chintan Oza is Venture Advisor at Loyal VC (Mumbai), Director at The Founder Institute, President of OneQuantum India Region and Vice President of PMI Mumbai Chapter.
Haricharan Vijayaraghavan showed how you can build a solution using Low Code/No Code and in another session how to create products people will love. Haricharan Vijayaraghavan is senior IT & business executive, experienced trainer, Accredited Kanban Trainer and ICAgile Agile Certified Coach.
Michael de la Maza showed how startups (and larger companies) can iteratively get to product-market fit. Michael de la Maza is author, business leader, angel investor, agile trainer and Scrum Alliance Certified Enterprise Coach (CEC). He holds a PhD in Artificial Intelligence from MIT.
Delana Mikolášová spoke about startup lessons from Israel. She named multiple factors of this success and specific suggestions for Czech entrepreneurs.
Delana Mikolášová is Scientific, R&D and Innovation Counsellor of the Czech Republic to Israel, working at the Embassy of the Czech Republic to Israel.
Jan Vašek dissected multiple business models and had students practice using a business model canvas and the sustainable business model canvas.
Jan Vašek is Assistant Professor at UCT Prague with previous long career in the automotive and consumer goods procurement.
Gil Goldman had the participants practice quick introductions and multiple presentation models suitable especially for the final pitch to the jury.
Gil Goldman is experienced development engineer with a history in the electrical and electronic manufacturing industry working for companies such as Siemens, Bohemia Interactive Simulations or Socialbakers.
Matěj Matolín spoke from the viewpoint of an investor. He outlined the financing options available to startups, specifics of relationship with a venture investor and key aspects of the pitches.
Matěj Matolín is a Talent partner at Impulse Ventures and his mission is to help amazing tech startups to scale. He focuses on finding tech talents and C-level executives, setting international operations, building an effective People Ops function or creating an attractive employer brand.
Jiří Sauer and Pavla Vyskočová shared insights into the CEE startup and technology ecosystem. They also discussed the Technology Fast 50 Central Europe program organized by Deloitte.
Jiří Sauer is a Partner in the Audit & Assurance function of Deloitte Czech Republic. He is the local leader of the Deloitte Technology Fast 50 program that annually recognizes the fastest-growing technological firms and oversees the community of these firms under the Deloitte Private initiative. Pavla Vyskočová is Manager in Forensic Servises at Deloitte Czech Republic.
